What is the promotion?
The Scottish Sun is offering nurseries in Scotland the chance to claim a set of free books worth over £250. Nurseries must register online from Monday October 28 – Monday November 18 2019 to take part. Once successfully registered, each nursery must collect 1750 tokens which are printed in The Scottish Sun every day from Monday November 11 – Sunday December 15 2019. Only nurseries can register but the tokens can be collected by anybody to help the nurseries.
How long is the promotion running for?
The registration period for nurseries is Monday October 28 – Monday November 18 2019. The token collect period to collect 1750 tokens is from Monday November 11 – Sunday December 15 2019
The closing date for nurseries to send in their 1750 tokens is strictly Friday January 24, 2020.
HOW TO TAKE PART
How do I take part in the promotion?
- Register your nursery at scottishsunfreebooksfornurseries (only nurseries can register using official contact information) from Monday October 28 – Monday November 18 2019
- Collect 1750 tokens printed daily in The Scottish Sun between Monday November 11 – Sunday December 15 2019.
- Once collected, return your 1750 tokens in the envelope provided (in the starter pack sent out in late October) by recorded delivery to The Sun Books for Nurseries, PO Box 13263, Nether Road, Galashiels, TD1 9AJ strictly before Friday January 24, 2020.
Am I eligible to register?
To register your nursery you must be over the age of 18 and be employed by the nursery you are trying to register. An official valid nursery email address and phone number will be required to register your nursery for this promotion. Your nursery must be in Scotland eligible to register. This promotion is not open to nurseries in England, Wales or Ireland.
Can I collect tokens for my local nursery?
If you have some tokens that you wish to donate to a local nursery and you do not have a contact at the nursery please get in touch at email@example.com to check if they are registered. Please do not send the tokens directly to The Scottish Sun.
Do I need to purchase The Scottish Sun?
Yes, this promotion requires you to purchase copies of The Scottish Sun in order to collect the 1750 printed tokens required to claim the free set of books.
Can I register my nursery more than once?
No, each nursery can only be registered once. Once it has been registered for the promotion it cannot be registered again.
How do I know if my nursery is registered?
Once a nursery has been registered on the registration site you will receive a unique code which you should keep a safe note of. You will also receive a confirmation email to the official nursery email address provided which will also include your unique code.
If you are unsure whether your nursery has been registered or have any issues with registering you can contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org to check.
Do I need internet access to take part in the promotion?
Yes, online access is required to register your nursery in the promotion.
Where can I find the tokens?
The tokens will be printed daily in The Scottish Sun and The Scottish Sun on Sunday between Monday November 11 and Sunday December 15, 2019.
Can I collect Sun Savers codes instead?
If you are a member of Sun Savers, our rewards club, unfortunately you cannot use Sun Savers codes to collect for this promotion. Only physical, printed tokens can be used.

Please don't forget to include your nursery's name along with your unique code received on registration. Please write your unique code clearly on the space provided on the front of your return envelope.
How will I know if I have collected enough tokens?
We recommend that you count all tokens before sending them in. Once they are received back to us, we will also check them.
All nurseries that have successfully collected enough tokens will receive a confirmation email by Saturday, 8th February 2020 to confirm that you nursery has qualified for the free set of books.
When will my nursery get their books?
All books will be delivered no later than Tuesday, March 31 2020.
THE FREE BOOKS
What books are available?
All nurseries that have registered and send in the required 1750 tokens will receive the specified set of Harper Collins Publishing books. The set contains 35 books suitable for children aged 3-5 years.
A full list of the books will be available in the starter pack sent to nurseries in Late October and can be viewed online at www.thescottishsunfreebooksfornurseries.co.uk/books once the promotion has launched.
Can I change any of the books?
No, the collection of books is a set selection. However, additional books can be ordered from HarperCollins direct. Information on how to do this is included in the starter pack which is sent in the post at the beginning of the campaign.
How many sets of books are available?
There is one set of books available per nursery. Any tokens collected above the 1750 required will not be counted towards a further set.
I'm having trouble entering my details. What should I do?
Please make sure you're following all the on-screen instructions carefully and that you're entering all fields marked with an asterisk (*). You will be prompted online if there are any mistakes or errors. If you're still having problems, please contact The Sun's Books for Nurseries customer services team at: email@example.com.
My computer / the website crashed as I was entering my details to register my nursery, how will I know if I've registered successfully?
A valid entry has been made if:
- All fields were completed and a confirmation box/unique code appeared.
- If you have successfully registered, you will also be sent a confirmation email including further details of the promotion.
- If your computer or the website crashes during this process, please revisit the website and try to register again. If your previous registration was not completed you will be able to register again. If you continue to experience problems, please get in touch with the customer services team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The website isn't loading / working properly. What should I do?
Please refresh your browser and try to access the page again. It may be that you need to clear your cache by holding down 'CTRL' and pressing 'F5'; this consists of data stored by your computer to enable similar future actions to be completed quicker. If you experience problems on one device, please try on another. If you experience problems with one browser then please try an alternative browser. If you continue to experience problems, please get in touch with our customer services team at email@example.com.
I think I might have entered the wrong details. What should I do?
If you believe you may have entered your details incorrectly, you can contact our customer services team at firstname.lastname@example.org. However, the promoter or its fulfilment agency cannot be held responsible for non-delivery of the promotional items caused as a result of providing incorrect information.
